🌐 Installing the Progressive Web App (PWA)

The SAKIKA RSI App can be installed on your device to work like a native app with offline capabilities and quick access from your home screen.

✅ General Requirements

  • HTTPS Connection: The app must be accessed via HTTPS (secure connection). Localhost is supported for development.
  • Modern Browser: Use a recent version of Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox
  • Internet Connection: Required for initial installation and updates

Note for Developers: PWA features work on localhost during development. Service workers and the app installation prompt will function normally when testing locally.

🤖 Android

Chrome or Edge Browser

  1. Open the SAKIKA app in Chrome or Edge on your Android device

  4. Confirm Installation

  5. Access Your App

    • The SAKIKA app icon will appear on your home screen
    • Tap it to launch the app in standalone mode

Firefox Browser

  1. Open the SAKIKA app in Firefox
  2. Tap the menu button (three horizontal lines or three dots)
  3. Select "Install" or look for the install icon in the address bar
  4. Follow the prompts to add to your home screen

🍎 iOS (iPhone & iPad)

Safari Browser

  1. Open Safari and navigate to the SAKIKA app

    • You can edit the app name if desired

    • The app will be added to your home screen

    • Tap to launch the app in full-screen mode

Note: iOS requires you to add the app manually using the Share menu. An automatic install prompt will not appear.

  1. Open the SAKIKA app in Chrome or Edge

Safari Browser

  1. Open Safari and navigate to the SAKIKA app

    • The app icon will appear in your Dock

    • Click the icon to open the app in a standalone window

Chrome or Edge Browser

  1. Open the SAKIKA app in Chrome or Edge
  2. Click the Install Icon in the address bar
  3. Confirm Installation in the dialog
  4. Launch from Applications Folder or use Spotlight (Cmd+Space, then type "SAKIKA")

🔧 Troubleshooting

Install Button Not Appearing

Android:

  • Ensure you're using Chrome or Edge (Firefox has limited support)
  • Make sure the site is accessed via HTTPS
  • Try clearing browser cache and cookies
  • Check if the site has been visited before (some browsers only show prompt after interaction)

iOS:

  • iOS doesn't show automatic install prompts - you must use the Share button method
  • Ensure you're using Safari (other browsers won't support PWAs)

Desktop:

  • Make sure you're using a recent version of Chrome or Edge
  • Check that you've interacted with the site (clicked, scrolled, etc.)
  • Look in the browser menu if the address bar icon isn't visible

App Not Working Offline

  • Ensure the app was fully loaded while online first
  • Service workers may need time to cache content
  • Some features require an internet connection to function

Updates Not Appearing

  • Close and reopen the app to check for updates
  • Service workers update automatically in the background
  • You may need to hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R or Cmd+Shift+R) if updates are stuck

Uninstalling the PWA

Android:

  • Long-press the app icon → "Uninstall" or "Remove"
  • Or go to Settings → Apps → SAKIKA → Uninstall

iOS:

  • Long-press the app icon → "Remove App" → "Delete App"

Windows:

  • Settings → Apps → Installed apps → Find SAKIKA → Uninstall
  • Or right-click the app icon → Uninstall

macOS:

  • Drag the app from Dock to Trash
  • Or delete from Applications folder
